Ridiculous app and no support!

I purchased this app with the hope that I wouldnt have to constantly login to my 2012 MacBook air running Yosemite. It destroyed the operating system so bad that I had to reinstall and it never worked. I emailed the support address I never got a response. Upon my second email, I got a mass email response but said they pulled the app from the app store. Do not buy this product! They are not even responding to support requests.

Works

This works only if you are unlocking the Mac after a rest mode, you cant turn on de Mac and use it, the software should né running for this to work

Pretty buggy, generally doesn’t work.

My first thought when I saw this on lifehacker was “Oh! Awesome! Now I can use Touch ID to unlock my Mac!” However, when I tried pairing the app to my late 2012 iMac, it would never complete the pairing process with the desktop app they direct you to download. It’d find my computer just fine, but would never actually complete the pairing process despite me entering my password when prompted on my Mac.

Doesn’t work. Better off using Knock

The app worked but was buggy until the latest update. Now it doesn’t work at all.

Pairs up, but that’s all. Cannot recommend at ALL.

Have a 2 month old iPhone 6+ and a 2 week old Macbook Pro. While the two devices DID pair up, the app ONLY works to unlock your computer after SLEEP. It will not login you in after a reboot, it will not work for apps that prompt you to login, all it will do is login after sleep. What’s the point of that!?!? I can type the password on the keyboard 10 times faster than opening this app, swiping open, login, use touchID. etc.

Awesome idea. Too bad it doesnt work.

MBP + iPhone 6 + airport express

Doesnt always work

I have my iPhone 6 plus next to my new MacBook Pro with retina when I try use it. It works 1 out of 10x. Its annoying. Going to try to get a refund.

Connectivity, dialup Internet is faster

I am running and iPhone six, and a MacBook Pro 2015. Good idea, when it works; I have to manually connect the two devices every time I want to login.

Annoyingly Inconsistent

This app fails to work more than it actually works, and that is in the best of situations. It cant wake the computer. Its just not fully formed. Were it free to experiment as a beta, it would be worth trying out. It definitely is NOT worth any actual money.

Doesnt work

Its never worked for me ever. Ive tried it with an iPhone 6, 5S on a 2012 air, and MacBook Pro. None of them have ever worked with this app. And theres nowhere to ask for support help or an FAQ

not ready for primetime, there are better apps

app works "loosely” (1) setup is cumbersome as one must go into iOS/FingerKey app/settings and select on for Touch ID - an easy thing except it is NOT mentioned and, without, app will not work (2) if your Mac has been sleeping for an extended time (screen & computer in deep sleep) wake its screen first to expose lock screen - then the app did work for me close to 100% of the time (inc. widget) while inconsistent if screen is black (this seems to be a known issue with BT & deep sleep and the other ‘unlock apps’ talk about it too) (3) absurdly Mac app chooses to swing 360º red line around your user image which shows thru the screensaver - workaround is quit Mac app but that kind of makes no sense ?! i am using two unlock apps, one each to unlock my Mac from my iPhone AND iPad as havent found one that allows multiple iOS devices tho some allow multiple Macs. my other is the free Touch Unlock, it locks & unlocks and functions like a primetime app. i have been able to make FingerKey ‘usable’ but would happily replace it in the future esp. when i get my Apple Watch (some apps will use the Watch in a handily fashion).

Beware of Bluetooth versions!

I have a 2011 IMac and a iPhone 6 Plus. If I knew that my iPhone wouldnt connect to my iMac via Bluetooth I wouldnt have purchased the product I cant get the product to work because of the Bluetooth version required is 4.0 and my Macintosh cannot support that using Yosemite . Im going to try to figure out how to get my money back thats the fair thing to do.

No App Update Via The App Store

The developers insistence that we update the app through his website and not via the App Store is dodgy. Poor customer service, too. Deleting this app in the meantime.

Works...

It works but could be better. The main issue is in order to use it, you have to unlock your phone (with touch most likely) run the app, swipe your computer, click login, then re-apply your finger… In short it takes more effort to use than typing my password. If they could integrate notifications so it can detect your login attempt and notify you on your phone, it would make the flow much more normal.

Not stable -> MacID works for me

I finally found a working solution, take a look at MacID . I wanted this to work but there’s no new features or updates to make things more stable.

Total Ripoff

When I bought this app and its companion for the MacBook Pro in December 2014, it didnt work. Somewhere deep in the fine print, it says that it is only compatible with newer models. So I thought, great. Whenever I upgrade to a new MB Pro, Ill have the app. Fast forward to January 2016. I bought a new 2015 MacBook Pro and guess what? Still does not work. Total piece of crap. Do Not Buy.

Waste of time and money

Dont buy this crap. I lost my money and time . Didnt let me logged into my MacBook. Spend hours trying to log in. It says device not found. Worst app

Still not ready, useless

As of April 2016, this app still blows. I set everything up just as described, but wasnt able to login once using this app. You cant even select TouchID after pairing? A total waste of $2.00. Avoid this app.

Great Product and great Technical Support as well

FingerKey Ford as promised, does what it knows to do the best: Unlock your computer with your fingerprint although theres no fingerprint reader built in your computer. There are some new tricks that FingerKey has learn in the couple of years of existence, and you should seriously consider using them in case you are still memorizing your passwords. Great Product and great Technical Support as well. My very small issue was solved just a few minutes after reporting it.

Works as advertised! Great support as well!

I was skeptical about how well this app would really work but I bought it anyways based on reviews Id come across on various tech blogs. I am using the app on my iPhone, Apple Watch and MacBook Pro and everything works well together. I needed support to help with the initial setup and the support staff was incredibly fast to respond and resolved the issue I had in just a few minutes.
